    About These Sessions:
    Our presenter Tony Gibbs shows how to create meaningful relationships with corporate partners with practical examples of how to ensure that your not-for-profit group stands out from everyone else.

    Tony will share how he is consistently successful in securing the support of businesses, explaining in practical terms the steps to take including:

    • Why asking for money is the wrong thing to do.
    • The importance of relationships.
    • Using the right language.
    • Clarifying the opportunities for a business to give you goods in kind as well as volunteers.
    • Securing sustainable donations from the corporate sector.

    You will leave this workshop with the tools and techniques to use, as well as being inspired to approach businesses to support your organisation.

    About the Presenter: Tony Gibbs

    Tony in blue suit and white shirt

    Tony Gibbs has an MSc in Voluntary Sector Management and has held leadership positions in the voluntary sector for over twenty years as well as a similar period of time in senior roles in the corporate sector. He has also over forty years experience as a trustee and volunteer with charities of all size. Tony is Chief Executive Officer of Serve.

    This session took place on Tuesday 25th February. One session was held in person at the Old Village Community Centre, Corby and the second session was online.

    Northamptonshire Community Foundation shared advice, hints and tips on what to consider before and during the process of completing grant applications.

    The sessions included areas such as impact and monitoring, examples of application questions, and common mistakes to avoid.

    Alex joined Northamptonshire Community Foundation in 2018, having worked in the arts and education previously, and became the Grants Manager in 2022.

    Since joining NCF, she has always been impressed by the power of local community and voluntary organisations, to be catalysts for change and anchors of support when looking to tackle range of priority needs, from food insecurity to improving health and wellbeing.
