About this Session:
The Movement Fund offers up to £15k for organisations offering sport or physical activity to help get more people more active. This webinar will outline the Movement Fund, including who can apply, what can be applied for & how to give yourself the best chance of applying successfully. Northamptonshire Sport will also examine how Sport England prioritises projects and the groups of people they are keen to activate.
This webinar is open to any organisation in Northamptonshire who wish or may wish to, apply to the Movement Fund. They will provide guidance on the governance required for larger projects, advice on crowdfunding and a Q&A session to finish.

Alex is Strategic Lead (Funding & Enterprise) at Northamptonshire Sport. Alex’s role at Northamptonshire Sport is to increase the amount of funding entering the sport & physical activity sector locally.
He is an experienced funding writer, having done so for over 10 years & have been helping local organisations with applications for the last 5 years. He has helped to secure funding from a wide range of providers for many different projects, including via crowdfunders, sponsorship offerings & grants.
BBC Children in Need funds not-for-profit organisations that support children and young people facing barriers in their lives, helping them to thrive and be the best that they can be. They fund work with children from 0 -18 years of age.
If you are considering applying for one of their funding programmes, this session will cover: – their funding programmes. – important things to think about if you are considering an application to BBC Children in Need. – how to apply.

This presentation was about how the Co-op Group funds projects in the community, several key points were covered to provide an understanding of the processes available.
Here’s the overview of what was presented:
Introduction to Co-op: What a co-op is and how we are different.
Funding Opportunities: The steps involved in applying for and receiving co-op funds, including eligibility criteria and the selection process. Highlight the variety of projects that receive funding, such as local businesses, community gardens, educational programs, and social initiatives.
National Partnerships: How the Co-op supports the community through it’s national partnerships with charities such as Barnardo’s.
Community Information: How the Co-op creates research to inform it’s plans to continue supporting and growing the community.
About the Presenter: Jasmine Matthews
Jasmine works within the Co-op Community and Member Participation Team as a Member Activator, creating opportunities for members to engage with their communities on the matters that mean most to them.
She develops physical and online networks with groups and charities supported through Co-op funding, as well as businesses and organizations working independently in their community.
As a resident of Northamptonshire and a former teacher, she has a good understanding of the social and economic issues creating barriers for many within our community. She looks forward to showcasing Co-op’s impact as a funder within Northamptonshire and expanding the network of beneficiaries. For example, since 2017, they have funded 370 grants with a total of £982,000. Their future goals include increasing member participation and supporting new community programs focused on their vision and strategy.
The Lloyds Bank Foundation supports small and local charities and CIC’s, investing in their work helping people overcome complex social issues across England and Wales.
About this Session:
The foundation supports charities and CIC’s with an annual income of £25,000 to £500k through a range of finding programmes throughout the year. Each programme offers unrestricted funding of £75,000 over 3 years and provide tailored development support to help your charity be more effective.

About the Presenter: Gary Beharrell
Gary has been involved in the voluntary sector for over 30 years — initially starting in children’s playwork in Hull — before community development work and running a play centre in Newcastle.
He then moved to volunteer management and development at Loughborough University followed by Nottingham University. He has been in grant management and assessment for over twenty years starting with Boots Charitable Trust.
He has been a trustee of a local community centre and the Association of Charitable Foundations and is a trustee of the East Midlands Funders forum.

About the Presenters: Frances Harris and Jennifer Hedges
Frances Harris: Frances has held this position for ten years, having previously trained as a lawyer and worked in the media industry.
Her role is to provide support and guidance for community facilities including village halls, community centres and playing fields. This covers all aspects of managing a facility as well as guidance relating to governance (including legal and regulatory compliance) and detailed advice about grant funding.
Jennifer Hedges: Jenni joined NACRE in December 2019. She has a strong environmental background, including land management and conservation. She is a qualified teacher and forest school leader, as well as having previous roles working with local community projects.
Jenni offers a range of support to rural communities including rural affordable housing, wellbeing and managing green spaces. She is also the coordinator for the North Northants Sustainable Food Network.
